The Council is the freehold owner of a 4 storey reinforced in situ concrete framed building with car parking at split levels including the roof area known as Battery Green Car Park. The car park structure is part of the overall structure with retail accommodation at ground floor level occupied by Wilkinsons with parking over.
The car park is currently included within the Council's Car Park Order and managed on a day to day basis by Waveney Norse (WN). WN management responsibilities also include compliance in relation to the operational use of the car park. The Council's Asset Management team is responsible for programmed repairs, including the two lifts, and for the assessment of viability in relation to financial returns. The car park closed to the public in April 2017.
