TDDAP will be the UK's main instrument, alongside a £16m Public Health England (PHE) programme, to prevent and respond to future disease outbreaks. It will support the reform priorities of the global health community, and Her Majesty's Government (HMG), incentivising effective coordination between partners. The Supplier will deliver targeted support across programme component outputs 2, 3, 4 and 5 in six focal countries that have high vulnerability to disease outbreaks and lack the investment to meet the needs. The objective of the supplier in the focus countries is to strengthen health systems and institutions to prevent outbreaks and epidemics of deadly communicable diseases. It will achieve this by delivering the following outputs:

  • i.African countries have improved adherence to IHR standards
  • ii.Better governance and accountability of public health systems
  • iii.Improved data and evidence
  • iv.Provision of an emergency response mechanism should a pre-crisis situation arise
