A350 Chippenham Bypass Improvement (Bumpers Farm)

<b>A350 Chippenham Bypass Improvement (Bumpers Farm)</b> Wiltshire Council is seeking to appoint a Contractor for the construction of improvements to the A350 Chippenham Bypass in the vicinity of the Bumpers Farm roundabout. The scheme will increase the existing single carriageway by constructing a northbound dual offline, this will involve the widening of two culverts, installation of drainage, street lights, signage, safety barrier, full depth construction of 1.2km of carriageway and adjustment to existing roundabouts. As this route is highly traffic sensitive any road closures will have to be undertaken at night. It is the intention for the start date of the contract to be April 2015, with construction to start in May 2015. <b>Award criteria</b>: It is envisaged that the tender process will be a two stage tender. The Pre-Qualification Evaluation will be based on Pass/ Fail criteria and quality questions. The Pre-Qualification Questionnaire will lead to the selection of 5-7 Contractors to receive the Instructions to Tenderers. The Tender evaluation will be based on a 70% on Cost / 30% Quality ratio. The Quality section will contain a scored section, Wiltshire Council may request also a tender interview. The most economically advantageous tender will be awarded the contract which results from this process.
