**Please do not respond directly to the Buyer**

STFC has a cohort of 16 to 20 mid-career managers identified as having leadership potential who have been selected for a fast track development programme. They span the disciplines of science, engineering and professional services.

The goals of this programme are to deliver a Development Centre that uses STFC's strategy as a context for 16 to 20 high potential candidates on the Accelerated Development Programme. In particular to:

To support the execution of STFC's 2020 strategy
To develop leadership skills required for the future sustainability of STFC
To strengthen collaboration, performance and resilience for change
To build the self-awareness necessary to engage and lead others
To apply new skills to solve real work problems

Detailed Requirements:

Design and deliver a 2-day Development Centre to assess and give feedback to 16 to 20 candidates against 8 competencies of STFC senior leaders. The individuals attending will be mid-career engineers and scientists who have been selected for the Accelerated Development programme, the focus of the centre is to use a range of tasks, role plays, exercises and psychometrics, the results of which will form an individual developmental report fed back to candidates at a 2 hour coaching session (the report will focus on the eight competencies below).

STFC Senior Leadership Competencies:

Strategic vision and focus
Leading for excellence
Drives change with enthusiasm
Analysis and decision making
Emotional Intelligence
Business acumen and results focus
Building and sustaining partnerships
Resilience

The case studies and role plays will be written by STFC staff, the role of the team is to advise and deliver. STFC will provide the relevant material for the development centre. This material can only be shared with the successful bidder upon award as it is Official Sensitive. The use of actors in the role plays are essential as four of the exercises will need actors.

The successful team will be supported by up to 4 internal STFC assessors.

The successful organisation will be required to recommend and conduct psychometric test to gain a thorough understanding of the candidates. It is expected that potential suppliers will be able to provide a team with a suitable level of skills and expertise to conduct the psychometric tests.

Each participant should receive a report identifying strengths and development needs, which can be used to form the basis of individual development plans that will help to shape the content of the Accelerated Development Programme.

The Centre is to be held during October 2017 and again for a second cohort of 16 to 20 at a late date in 2019 at the STFC conference centre near to our Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire.
