Security Application Suite

Portsmouth City Council, 'the Authority', is inviting tenders from suitably qualified suppliers and resellers to deliver a suite of security applications as described in the attached documents.

The Authority's email, web filtering and endpoint security covered under this tender is currently delivered by Sophos in Corporate and School deployments.

The licencing and support for the related hardware and software is due for renewal in January 2016 this tender has been issued therefore to ensure that this solution continues to represent 'best value'.

Whilst the corporate requirements have remained largely unchanged over the term of our current contract, the requirements in schools has changed in line with the increased use of mobile technology and online learning so as a result we are interested in receiving responses from suppliers delivering independent solutions as well as combined proposals.

It should also be noted that with many schools considering becoming academies where they have greater control over spending the future delivery of IT services by Portsmouth City Council is unpredictable we are therefore interested in receiving quotes for this element of the service for a 12 month as well as a full three year term

The Authority aims to award the contract by 26 October 2015 with a subsequent commencement date of 11th January 2016.

The Authorities annual budget for schools is in the region of £10,000 per annum, whilst the corporate budget is in the region of £20,000 per annum excluding support.

Contract Period & Possible Extensions

Schools: We are interested in receiving quotes for a 12 month contract and a

36. month contract.

Corporate: The initial Contract period will be for 3 years with the possibility of extending the term by a further 2 years (up to a maximum total term of 5 years) in increments to be agreed, subject to the agreement and performance of both parties.
