Tender for an Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS, EDX) Detector
STFC ITAC require an EDS detector for chemical inspection based in the ITAC MNT R1 clean room facilities specialised in semiconductor processing and materials characterisation.
Specification essential requirements:
| • | Compatible with a Carl Zeiss Sigma 300 field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) (installation ports available). |
| • | Windowed silicon drift detector (SDD) technology with liquid nitrogen-free cooling. |
| • | Detector area above 30 mm2 to enable high count rates. |
| • | Resolution 129eV or better at Mn K-alpha. |
| • | Detection range from beryllium (Be). |
| • | Retractable by motor (not manual) from chamber when not in use. |
| • | Scanning modes: mapping, line and point scan with quantitative analysis. |
| • | Software and a Windows 7/10 PC to run the measurements, analyse the acquisitions and save the data. |
| • | A minimum 12 month warranty. Extended warranty periods are preferred. |
| • | Availability of parts and support for at least 10 years. |
| • | Installation and training to be provided by the supplier. Training will be required for a group of 5 persons and is to be carried out at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. Training can be carried out at a later date to delivery and installation. |
| • | Delivery must be before the end of March 2018. |
| • | Delivery address: Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Harwell Oxford, Didcot, OX11 0QX. |
| • | Ex-demonstration models will be considered. |

If you have not yet registered on the eSourcing Suite, this can be done online at https://gpsesourcing.cabinetoffice.gov.uk by following the link 'Register for CCS eSourcing'.
Please note that, to register, you must have a valid DUNS number (as provided by Dun and Bradstreet) for the organisation which you are registering, who will be entering into a contract if invited to do so.
Once you have registered on the eSourcing Suite, a registered user can express an interest for a specific procurement. This is done by emailing expressionofinterest@crowncommercial.gov.uk.
Your email must clearly state:

Crown Commercial Service will process the email and then enable the Bidder to access the procurement online via the e-Sourcing Suite. The Sourcing documents can then be accessed on the eSourcing Suite at: https://gpsesourcing.cabinetoffice.gov.uk using the instructions detailed in the Specification documents within Contracts Finder.
As a user of the e-Sourcing Suite you will have access to Emptoris email messaging service which facilitates all messages sent to you and from you in relation to any specific RFX event.
