Currently, the Metropolitan Police Services (MPS) has two internally operated car pounds that are used to store seized and crime related vehicles. MPS Vehicle Recovery and Examination Services (VRES) manage these sites on a daily basis. Both sites are operated 24/7, 365 days a year and are the forefront of major policing operations.
Vehicles that will require unlocking are mainly vehicles that have been involved in crime and require forensic examination along with a smaller percentage of vehicles, which have been seized by the MPS.
The MPS have three Lots available:
