A435 Charlton Hill Landslip

The A435 carriageway at Charlton Hill to the south of Cheltenham has been subject to ongoing cracking and movement for many years. This scheme has been designed to stabilise the worst affected sections of the road and to repair the damage caused to the carriageway. This will be achieved by installation of an approximate 400 metre length of sheet piles in the verge adjacent to the southbound lane of the carriageway and by full-depth carriageway reconstruction together with replacement of defective drainage.

The works will include provision of a new southbound cycle lane as well as associated works to enable diversion of existing services located within the highway verge in order to accommodate the piling works.

The proposed procurement route will be a single stage (open process) using the NEC4 ECC Option A Priced Contract form with Activity Schedule.
