description
The Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (DBTHFT) is looking to procure, via capital purchase, a robust, reliable and versatile (Ultra) High Performance Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC) system with both electrochemical (ECD) and fluorescence detectors. The system will be used primarily for the analysis of catecholamines, HVA, VMA and 5-HIAA in urine for the diagnosis of phaeochomocytoma and carcinoid syndrome. Current annual workload for these tests is approximately 500 catecholamines, 200 5-HIAA and 50 HVA/VMA. The system should support current in-house methodologies as well as enabling the service to be 'future-proofed' by the installation of newer technology which would support kit based applications for these and potentially other assays. Future applications may include, for example, urine metadrenalines, vitamins and homocysteine. The system will be located within the Special Assays section of Clinical Biochemistry. The system must enable the department to meet all of the standards required for UKAS accreditation under ISO15189.
Essential aspects of the specification will be scored as pass or fail, with desirable features and additional information being scored as indicated. It is important therefore that all areas that require further information are answered fully. Any suppliers failing to meet any of the essential criteria will not be scored further.
