To provide an independent return interview service for children who go missing from home or care within 72 hours of the child returning to their home or care setting. The aim is to promote the safety and welfare of the child, avoid repeat episodes by ascertaining the factors that led to the child/young person going missing, providing appropriate advice, information and support including one to one support and family mediation to facilitate reintegration back to the family or care setting, and to deliver the service in accordance with the service specification and contract.
