description
Our partnership strategy for inclusion and AP was codesigned between schools and the council and approved by Waltham Forest Cabinet in early 2020. Our delivery model aims to maximize the impact of interventions in school and with families to help ensure children remain in mainstream education for as long as possible. A strong focus on inclusivity is a vital component of a joined-up, six-tier approach, encompassing:
- Tier 1: Self-help for children and families and building inclusion capacity in schools
- Tier 2: School-based inclusion support
- Tier 3: School-based interventions for children at risk of exclusion
- Tier 4: Short-term interventions including Day-6 alternative provision
- Tier 5: Medium-term alternative provision
- Tier 6: Long-term alternative provision
