GB-Shrewsbury: EMC 029 - Handyperson Service for Shropshire

Applicants are invited to tender for the provision of a Handyperson service for Shropshire residents for a period of up to 5 years commencing on 1st August 2015.

The contract consists of the provision of a countywide Handyperson service which will provide minor works and installation of appropriate aids and minor adaptations to help older, disabled and vulnerable people (including children) to be able to continue to live independently in their own home and to avoid admission to hospital or residential care.

It is important that the successful provider is able to supply a subsidised service to customers referred directly by Shropshire Council, whilst at the same time developing an offer for private customers who are seeking a reputable and trusted Handyperson. It is expected that, through development of the privately funded element of the service, public subsidy will reduce over a period of time.

The deadline for the return of completed tenders is 12 noon, Friday 17th July 2015.

Shropshire Council is purchasing on behalf of itself and any wholly owned local authority company or other entity that is deemed to be a contracting authority by virtue of the Council’s involvement.

Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement, and the contract will be awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender.
