Development and Delivery of South Downs Youth Action

Building on this success South Downs Youth Action was launched in 2019. Nine volunteering days designed for 16-25 year olds took place over the Summer and Autumn holidays, giving young people diverse experiences. The days were designed as tasters and special consideration was given to social barriers that young people face such as public transport and to making the activities relevant, meaningful and fun. This was also an important way for participants to get experience towards a future academic or career path.

We now need support to build on the pilot South Downs Youth Action and to reach more young people. We are seeking a contractor to work alongside the SDNPA volunteering team for 6 months to administer, coordinate and to part-deliver the volunteer activities for 16-25 years olds in the South Downs National Park during 2021. We want the contractor to support other organisations across the SDNP to build youth volunteering opportunities and to create a park-wide Youth Action programme. This will include the delivery of 24 Youth Action activity days from late spring to autumn 2021. Participant numbers may vary from 4 to 40 depending on the task.
