description
The Launchpad programme is a £4M, three year, part-ERDF funded programme, designed to increase the business stock in the Sheffield City Region (SCR) through the provision of pre start, start up and post start up support. The programme commenced on 1st April 2016 and ends on the 31st March 2019.
Launchpad aims to increase economic growth through fostering the development of new and sustainable growth businesses across the SCR. Launchpad offers business advice, one to many business workshops and events, specialist 1-1 coaching support and business mentoring. The aim of the project is to provide entrepreneurs in the SCR the opportunity to explore and challenge their business ideas with enterprise experts and fellow entrepreneurs. It will support individuals wanting to start a business, whilst paying close attention to help those at the initial stages of their enterprise journey. The project will work with both pre start businesses and those who have been registered as a business up to 24 months.
As the programme is nearing completion, we are seeking consultancy support to lead an evaluation of the Launchpad programme. The evaluation will ultimately assess the success of the investments that have been made and make recommendations for future development and sustainability of the programme, in the context of potential future funding streams.
The evaluation will comprise an assessment of the success of Launchpad, with consideration to be paid to assessing the impacts and strategic outcomes of the programme and an assessment of its achievements against targets. It will also consider the views of the beneficiaries and how the support they have received has helped to create and sustain new start-ups.
