Kingston upon Hull City Council (the Authority) invites qualified and interested suppliers to tender for the provision of a contract for Funerals undertaken under the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984 on behalf of Hull City Council. The Authority is conducting the procurement using the open procedure, as required by the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (SI 2015/102) (PCR 2015). Tender documents have been made available in both electronic and paper format. There is no need to access the internet and complete an on-line registration to submit a tender on this occasion.

The Authority proposes to enter into a contract for a maximum period of four years with the successful Tenderer (Service Provider), with an option to extend for a period or periods of up to a maximum of 12 months. Such extension will be at the discretion of the Authority and subject to satisfactory performance. The anticipated service commencement date is 1 October 2017.

Hull City Council invites bids from organisations that are able to provide appropriate Funeral Director type services to ensure the Authority can carry out its statutory duties under section 46 of the Public Health (control of diseases) Act 1984; this is dealing with Public Health Funerals including transportation and care of the deceased to the standards required by this specification. This contract will be awarded to one supplier. The contracted provider will be required to have suitable premises, transportation equipment, and vehicle provision to carry the deceased and adequate and suitable staff resources to meet the service specification listed in ITT PART 1 Schedule 2.
