SBC 0918 Design and Build of 15 flats Burwell Court Stevenage AWARDED - AWARD

Stevenage Borough Council wishes to provide a new development of 6no. two bedroom and 9no. one bedroom flats with associated parking at Burwell Road, Stevenage

The development involves the new build construction of a single three storey block containing 15 self contained flats with parking for 17 cars and secure cycles storage. The development will include all associated on and off site works as indicated on the accompanying site layout.

Works have progressed on site under the original contract with piled foundations completed, however due to the previous contract being terminated, Stevenage Borough Council now wish to appoint a new contractor to complete the development. In order that warranties are obtained for the works completed, Stevenage Borough Council has appointed a builder to progress the woks to Damp proof level. These works will be carried out during the tender period and so tenderers are to assume that these works will be completed. I.e., Piled foundations, Block and Beam, onsite drainage, and two brick courses above DPC, ready for a traditional construction method and that there will be no issues concerning these previously completed works and the ability to obtain the necessary build warranty.

The contract will be let on a Design and Build basis and so tenderers are to satisfy themselves that they have made adequate allowances for all eventualities and have the necessary skill and experience to complete a high-quality product.
