SBC CP Improvement Works to Montem Primary School and Pippins Primary School

Both Pippins and Montem’s schools have in recent years had problems associated with the heating and lighting systems.

Both have inadequate heating systems and Montem in particular has failed on a number of occasions resulting in the provision of temporary boilers pending the installation of a new heating system.

The poor systems are not energy efficient to meet the demands of the School and need to be upgraded accordingly.

The toilet blocks at Pippins are old and outdated and do not provide facilities for modern usage and as such they need to be updated to reflect modern standards and requirements. The School is also required to have suitable and sufficient kitchen facilities for the provision of hot meals and part of this requirement is for the suitable and sufficient ventilation and extract systems, currently the existing system is not up to standard and as such it fails the current regulations and therefore needs to be upgraded accordingly.

Both schools have poor and inadequate lighting and security systems that need to be upgraded to meet current standards and energy efficiency.
