The long-term goal is to support the industry in making informed decisions on possible changes to mitigation approaches to risks related to adverse weather, in particular trains running into trees or landslips. The specific objective of this study is to provide an understanding of whether current blanket speed restriction arrangements are suitable and justified, and what alternatives exist.
