description
Tenders are invited for the supply of services in respect of
flexible and effective Supervised Contact Services for vulnerable children and young people either in the city of Derby, or out of the city of Derby area where legal proceedings are in progress or have ended and young people remain in the care of Derby City Council “Looked After”.
Supervised Contact is court ordered resulting from;
| • | Care Proceedings where the Authority is concerned that a child is at risk of or suffering significant harm (pre-court) |
| • | A Care Order which grants the Authority shared Parental Responsibility for a child with their parents (post-court) |
This service is required to meet our statutory obligations to deliver court ordered supervised contact (both pre and post court proceedings) to vulnerable children and young people.
Supervised Contact usually takes place after school hours and during school holidays. It is vital that the Service can respond to fluctuating levels of Service requests especially during weekdays 3pm to 6.30pm, Saturdays and school holidays. Venues to facilitate contact must be neutral, safe and accessible.
Supervised Contact sessions typically last up to two hours and supervisors must have competent observational, recording and reporting skills.
The initial contract period is two years; the contract is estimated to commence 01 April 2017 and expire 31 March 2019. There will be the option to extend the contract by one further year subject to performance, funding and business needs.
Please note we will only accept expressions of interest through our e-tendering system at www.eastmidstenders.org where you can express interest.
Please note, suppliers wishing to express interest and obtain the documentation, must do so by 11pm on 8th December 2016. However, it is recommended that you express interest and obtain the documentation well before this time to allow sufficient time to prepare and submit a comprehensive response.
The deadline for returns is 10.00am on 9th December 2016.
