The main objectives of this pilot are to introduce and build the foundations for work strand 4 of the South Tees Better Care Fund: Support to Care Home Project. Through the implementation of a revised and improved falls protocol for residential care homes; coupled with the implementation of the use of Telecare.

The expected outcomes include:

Reduction in non-elective admissions caused by falls as a result of improved education and management of falls
Reduction in falls related safeguarding alerts
Improved patient experience
Reduction in the number of North East Ambulance Service call outs to respond to falls within residential homes
