Market Engagement - Specialist Residential and Nursing Care

Barnsley Council is seeking to develop and commission a new specialist residential care and nursing approach for adults in 2018 to ensure we continue to meet the health and social care needs of some of the most vulnerable people in Barnsley. There are a number of Residential and Nursing Homes for Older People in Barnsley and there is a framework arrangement in place. There are no plans for this to change. For individuals with a learning disability, mental health problem, or older people with complex needs, who require residential care, both within and out of the Borough, spot purchase arrangements are in place and an Individual Placement Agreement is completed with the residential and nursing care home. Commissioners wish to invite interested Providers to hold discussions with them at an initial introductory meeting and establish a working group of providers interested in developing the approach for implementing specialist residential care.
