description

To meet its legal responsibilities under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 Huntingdonshire District Council is proposing to let a contract for asbestos consultancy services for council owned, mainly commercial use properties.

Services to include the preparation of renewed or new asbestos management surveys for all premises including the reinspection of existing asbestos containing materials (ACMs), updating of HDCs current asbestos register and material sampling as required. The consultant will provide an option to undertake a review of all commercial property leases to verify the landlord or tenant duty holder and their liabilities and responsibilities for asbestos management at the premises.

Following the review of responsibility, to provide a consolidated report on the asbestos liability across the portfolio, to be used to devise a strategy for the future management of asbestos, resources, and costs for the next 5-10 years. Following on from this, the consultant will on an annual basis reinspect all properties where HDC is identified as duty holder within the management strategy plan. Reinspection's will be on or before the annual commencement date of the initial inspection but no sooner than one month of the annual inspection date.
