Lancaster City Council owns, operates and manages Williamson Park. The Council is currently seeking to develop an Adventure Playground in the park as a new unique visitor attraction. The adventure playground is to come with a food and beverage outlet. The area for development is designated as Fenham Carr Woodland. The aim of the project is to add to the quality of the recreational offering and setting at Williamson Park. The objective being to ensure that all user groups benefit from a varied range of interesting recreational activities and enhanced site infrastructure that meets the needs of the local population and, importantly, visitors to the district. To Design & Build a site specific, distinct, high quality, well designed outdoor adventure playground (playforest), which can be affordably maintained. The playground should have a forest theme, integrate harmoniously within Fenham Carr Wood, utilise the woodland environment and nature for inspiration, and make children and parents alike feel the playground has sense of magic and excitement.
