description
The purpose of this commission is to establish the condition and compliance of the existing vehicle restraint systems (VRS) on the KW Tunnel Approach Roads on both sides of the River Mersey.
Once condition and compliance has been established, it is Merseytravel's intention to replace all defective and non-compliant VRS systems.
The commission will be split into two stages as described in the brief attached to this opportunity:
Stage 1
- a)Physical inspection of all VRS currently in place on the tunnel approach roads.
- b)Produce a report identifying all defective and non-compliant VRS located on the approaches.
- c)In association with the report above, produce 'marked up' ACAD drawings.
Stage 2
- a)Produce a suitable specification for the required remedial/replacement works.
- b)Prepare tender documentation.
- c)Create and maintain an appropriate Risk Register for the works.
- d)Produce a Tender H & S plan, all necessary Pre-construction information and act as Principal Designer in accordance with CDM 2015.
It is likely that the construction phase of this project will be undertaken during the 2022/2023 financial year however if funding becomes available sooner then this scheme could be undertaken in quarter 4 of 2021/2022. If this scheme is to be accelerated, then Merseytravel may require an extension to this commission to include PM and/or site supervision to ensure scheme can be completed within budget and to required timescales.
This is a call-off from Lot 11 (Highways Infrastructure Consultancy) of the Merseytravel Consultancy Services Multiparty Framework Agreement 2019 - 2023.
