description
Worcestershire County Council's Flood Risk Management Team in a joint partnership with the Environment Agency are commissioning detailed modelling for Middle Battenhall Farm and Duck Brook.
The current Risk of Flooding for Surface Water (RoFSW) map shows a small amount of surface water flood risk on the site known as Middle Battenhall Farm. Local knowledge and photographic evidence suggests that the site has a greater extent of flooding than is currently mapped. The outputs of this study should be of a suitable quality to update the Risk of Flooding from Surface Water map. A copy of the surface water mapping specification will be made available.
The Duck Brook is main river and currently only generalised modelling on this tributary of the River Severn exists. The main purpose of including the Duck Brook in this modelling study is to improve the understanding of the fluvial flood mechanisms as well as the interaction with surface water within the catchment. The catchment is not gauged.
It will also enable the Environment Agency to explore potential options to mitigate fluvial flood risk in the area and outlines derived will be used to update the Flood Map for Planning (rivers and sea).
