The Catapult is in the process of building a business case for a new national project to build a large scale smart city and 5g demonstrator. By assembling a consortium of government, academia and industry organisations, the project will procure and construct a world leading large scale demonstrator to test and trial smart technologies and 5G products and services, at scale and in combination in a UK city.
The project has two aims:
| 1. | To prove the commercial benefit of new products and services and mobilise private investment to support market creation. |
| 2. | To address the challenges growing cities face, such as health, energy, transport and economic development. |
The Catapult now has a requirement for support to further the business case development including a regulatory assessment of the 5G use cases and deploying smart technologies in cities as part of the strategic case
