The overall objective is to develop and deliver independent advocacy which will provide the scope of support and assistance required by victims of crime who have mental ill health and who need help additional to that which is generally available from the Victim Care and Advice Service. The independent advocate’s role will be to support and represent the victim, always with regard to their wellbeing and interests, in navigating the often complex pathways involved in engaging with CJS processes.
