The council currently provides a window cleaning service to the communal areas of properties owned by Norwich City Council.

This requirement is to provide window cleaning (including frames etc. the exact cleaning schedule is detailed below.

The contract period will be for 3 years, with an option to extend for a further 2 years.

This delivery of this service will be subject to a yearly performance review.

The requirements of the service are:

Two cleans per year to the properties listed on Appendix J of the ITT.

The first is a deep clean of all relevant windows, associated frames etc.

The definition of a ‘deep clean’ is:-

A thorough clean of the glass, frames, reveals and sills, or any associated part of the window frame, cross - members (to include roof windows where applicable)

Replacing “No Smoking Notices” supplied by NCC (Norwich City Council).

Affix and complete a window sticker informing the residents of the clean (NCC to design, supply and to agree where it will be placed).

Any windows that are defective or in need of repair must be reported to the contract manager at NCC.

Where residents have multiple items on sills that prevent the clean, the contractor must report the applicable address/es to the contract manager at NCC. However, it has been agreed that residents may have a single non-flammable item on the window sill (left there at their own risk). Residents are pre-advised that such items will be moved by the contractor during the cleaning process.

The second is a lighter clean -

The definition of a ‘lighter clean’ is:-

Internal glazing and external glazing at ground floor level - glass only.
