description

NHS Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire Clinical Commissioning Groups jointly wish to invite prospective providers to express their interest for the provision of a Consultant led community based Dermatology Service.

The aim of the service is to aid early diagnosis and management of patients with a dermatological condition and minimise referrals to secondary care.

The objectives of the service are to:

  • To provide a ‘one stop’, ‘see and treat’ service.
  • To operate to evidence based pathways covering the defined presentations and conditions within this specification.
  • To ensure that referrals can be made through choose and book using agreed local templates.
  • To offer the patient choice of location as close to their home as possible.
  • To work with commissioners and other providers to ensure an integrated network of services.
  • To collect and publish audit data on a variety of performance, service user and quality criteria and work collectively with the commissioners to implement service development as a consequence of the feedback.
  • To work collaboratively with other providers to ensure that transfer of care protocols are developed and followed which ensure that service users have a seamless pathway.

The successful providers will be required to sign the NHS Standard Contract for the service and accept all terms and conditions.

The CCG is looking to award the service to a single provider.

Activity will be paid on a cost per case basis at a Local Tariff rate (There will be no guarantees of volume or payment in the contracts awarded. Indicative activity can be provided).

Contract is for 3 years with option to extend by 2 x 12 months subject to approval by Commissioners
