The Special Constables Legal Fees Insurance Scheme (LFIS) provides Special Constables (SCs) with personal legal protection and guidance for eligible SCs, for incidents arising while on duty, where subsequent legal representation may be required. All Special Constables in England and Wales must be insured. We need to re tender for the scheme through open and fair competition. The scheme must continue without any gap in insurance provision for Special Constables.
