Kent County Council (the Council) is the largest local authority in England covering an area of 3,500 square kilometres. It has an annual expenditure of over £1bn on goods and services and a population of 1.3m. The Council provides a wide range of personal and strategic services on behalf of its residents, operating in partnership with 12 district councils and 289 parish/town councils. The Council consists of four directorates • Social Care, Health and Wellbeing • Education and Young People's Services • Growth, Environment and Transport • Strategic and Corporate Services This requirement is for Recovery, Storage & Disposal of Abandoned Vehicles within the Growth, Environment and Transport Directorate. This service involves the recovery, transportation and temporary storage of Abandoned Vehicles found within the Kent boundary. Abandoned Vehicles are reported by District Councils directly to the Provider. Once collected by the Provider, registered vehicle owners are the contacted by Kent County Council, to ascertain whether they wish to reclaim their vehicle. The provider will be expected to facilitate the collection of reclaimed vehicles from their sites by members of the public. Should the owner not wish to reclaim their vehicle, the Provider will be responsible for disposing of the vehicle. Abandoned Vehicles to be recovered may include Cars and Caravans. Full details of the requirement can be found in Section 1 of the Forms for Completion Document. The contract is anticipated to commence upon 1st September 2017 and will continue for a period of 24 months, unless terminated in accordance with the Conditions of Contract on the Kent Business Portal, with an option to extend in two phases; the first for 1 year (12 months) , and then for a further 1 year (12 months), resulting in a potential total contract term of 4 years (48 months).
Additional information: All contract values stated relate to the initial contract term of 24 months. All estimated contract values are basedupon indicative vehicle volumes for 2016/17, and are subject to a market price tracking mechanism. Should thepotential extension periods be taken (total potential contract period of 48 months), the estimated contract valuesare as follows: Lot 1: 36000 GBP, Lot 2: 26000 GBP, Lot 3: 22000 GBP.
