description

Framework agreement for interim primary care.

NHS England South Region ( please note that Contract Finder cannot cope with this particular regional allocation ) is working on a wide framework agreement for the provision of local general medical services in short term and exceptional circumstances.

General medical services can be required at short notice for a number of reasons, for example, the death of a single handed general practitioner or the short notice retirement or resignation of a general practitioner,

The framework will be designed to increase the options open to primary care commissioners and simplify the timeline and process for securing short term general medical services locally. General medical services will be purchased from the suppliers on the framework using APMS contracts and, where necessary, after mini competitions between accredited framework providers.

NHS England South Region is looking to attract suitably experienced, local, regional and national general medical service providers, practice federations (where they are a legal entity) and multi-specialty providers to join the framework.

Providers applying to join will be CQC registered and will be subject to quality, readiness and value for money assessment in order to ensure the quality and continuity of primary care provision.

The framework will be designed to be accessed by primary care commissioners across the South including any CCGs with delegated authority for primary care commissioning.

NHS England South anticipates having the framework in place by the summer of 2015.
