Electric Car Club - Expression of Interest opportunity

Torbay Council ('the Council') would like to engage with organisations who may be interested in offering a practical, reliable, efficient, and effective Car Club which brings many benefits initially to the Council, elected members, and Council employees, with the opportunity for further expansion to other local organisations and for community use. The Council are looking to procure the car club within the next six months, and the primary aims are to reduce carbon emissions, increase sustainable travel, and improve the availability of vehicles for staff business travel.

Scope of Services:

The Council's requirement is for a Car Club Operator, ideally accredited by CoMoUK or an equivalent body, who will be responsible for, but not limited to, provision and day-to-day running of a corporate car club service, including (but not necessarily limited to) the:

• provision of electric vehicles with insurance, breakdown cover, and maintenance of vehicles;

• provision of electric charging infrastructure for those vehicles, including the electricity supply, and the provision and maintenance of chargers;

• management, provision, and operation of an electronic booking system;

• marketing activities; and

• any new innovative ideas.
