Hydrological Monitoring at Bolton Fell Moss

Previous work has used a contractor to install and monitor hydrology across Bolton Fell Moss. The work involves monthly maintenance/data download of data loggers, analysis of water samples, data analysis and reporting. The water level data loggers provide vital information on water table levels on the site, particularly in relation to the efficacy of the restoration works in re-wetting and improving water retention of the site. The data collected will be used for impact assessments such as flood risk assessments and inform management of the site. The work is critical because it forms part of the planning permission requirements granted by Cumbria County Council in November 2013.
