Review of effectiveness and opportunities of Natural Character Area profiles as an evidence tool for delivering Natural England's Conservation Strategy

In order to understand how the current 159 National Character Area (NCA) profiles can be more effective in supporting C21 aims, particularly developing the aims in Natural England's Conservation Strategy (C21) to develop Landscape-scale approaches to conservation, work with others to co-create Shared Plans for Places, develop greater use and understanding of Natural Capital in achieving outcomes and increasingly put people at the heart of our decision making, we wish to commission a report to review the NCA profiles and how best these can be utilised to meet our C21 Objectives.

This review will identify a range of options, from which, the top 5 will be developed into more detailed proposals. These proposals will include identification of benefits and risks, potential links to other existing (or in development) tools, and outline assessments of organisational resource implications for each option.
