Noise and Vibration measuring equipment required for INM's Accoustic & Vibration Department.
There is a need for a dedicated computer-based data acquisition measurement system for noise and vibration for use in the different military platforms. The general and detailed specifications for the system are as follows:
| It must be a Multi-channel data acquisition system. | |
| It must be able to stream data simultaneously for a minimum of 6 channels. | |
| It must have a sample and hold facility during data acquisition. | |
| It must be able to acquire data up to a frequency of 50,000 Hz. | |
| It must have flexibility on the type of input transducer that can be used. | |
| It must be able to accept a current microphones and accelerometers. | |
| The complete system must be portable. | |
| It should include self-powered ability for remote environments (battery powered). | |
| It should have wireless operation ability for use in harsh environments. | |
| It should be expandable to include more channels in the future. | |
| It should have a remote control unit for real-time checking of data. | |
| The software should be compatible with formats within the section (e.g. WAV files). | |
| It should have the ability to acquire large amounts of data (~60 Gb). |
