UK_2021_CE_Consultant - to support establishment of a Strategic Synergy Model for the Malaysia Technical University Network University-Industry Partnership

A consultant with a proven knowledge in the UK education sector is needed to produce a scoping and benchmarking exercise of UK and Malaysian university-industry research and innovation collaborations to understand how they have achieved success or what have been the obstacles faced.

This project will support the development of a Strategic Synergy Model for the Malaysia Technical University Network MTUN) University-Industry Partnerships. The first step will be to complete a scoping and benchmarking exercise on Malaysian and UK models of university-industry research and innovation collaborations detailing the funding mechanisms, incentives for participation; how collaborations are established; the push and pull factors; the success markers for those models; challenges, how these were overcome or if they proved insurmountable to the partnership. The report will also describe the relationship among different Catapults and Universities involved in partnerships and the benefit to teaching and learning. Other findings that are important for developing a Malaysian model for University-Industry partnerships may also form part of the initial report.. UK industries which and institutions which most closely align with the technical expertise offered by MTUN will be a focus of this exercise.

The finding of the scoping exercising will be presented and discussed during workshops in January 2022, after which the execution framework for the University-Industry partnership mode will be developed in early March 2022.
