description
Kingston upon Hull City Council (the Authority) invites qualified and interested suppliers to tender for the provision of a contract for: Summertime Activities. The Authority is conducting the procurement using the open procedure (non EU), as required by the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (SI 2015/102) (PCR 2015). The Disability Short Breaks - Summertime Activities is a specialist service to support disabled children, young people, families and carers. The Summertime Activities will provide a community based summer activity programme which will promote fun and friendship through positive play experiences for children and young people whilst giving parents and carers a short break. The DSB - Summertime Activities is part of the overall Children's Disability Service for Hull which aims to provide a range of short breaks service provision to promote the wellbeing of disabled children, young people, families and carers. Children and young people will have improved emotional well-being through increased opportunities for play and social interaction; • children and young people will have improved self confidence and self esteem; • children and young people will be supported to have fun, learn new skills and enhance their independence; • children and young people will have increased opportunities to participate in play and leisure opportunities alongside their disabled and non disabled peers. • children and young people will experience positive time away from their parents, carers and families. • parents, carers and siblings will have a short break, building family strength and resilience and preventing pressure and crisis. • siblings will have increased opportunity to spend quality time with their parents or carers. The Authority proposes to enter into Contract for a period of 3 years with the successful Tenderer (Service Provider), with an option to extend for a period or periods of up to a maximum of 12 months. Such extension will be at the discretion of the Authority and subject to satisfactory performance and monitoring. The budget available for the duration of this contract is approximately £270,000.00. The price will be fixed for the duration of the contract. The anticipated service commencement date is 28 February 2019. The Authority envisages that the staff working on the current service shall transfer to the Service Provider or its subcontractors, under the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (SI 2006/246) (TUPE).
