description

Leeds City College ('The College') are looking to fit out a new technical theatre space in the heart of our new £57m state-of-the-art creative arts campus. The new venue is right in the heart of Leeds cultural quarter in Quarry Hill, surrounded by leading institutions such as Leeds Playhouse, BBC Leeds Studio, Leeds College of Music, and Northern Ballet, all of whom work closely with The College itself.

During the day the theatre will be a training space for our ever growing cohort of Theatre Design & Production students and then be let on evenings and weekends to select groups and companies for dance, theatre and music performances. The theatre space measures L 16m x W 14m x H 9m and seats an audience of 150.

Along with purchasing an extensive range of lighting fixtures, a digital sound system, video projection facilities and flyable trussing we are keen to forge an ongoing relationship with a theatre industry supplier, offering the space as a demo room as part of any relationship with a supplier and / or manufacturer.

While the intention is to provide a fully delivered theatre space between the 15th July and the 9th August soft furnishings and genie lifts etc. will be covered in separate tenders - only lighting, sound and similar technical equipment is included within this specific tender.

It is our ambition to offer ABTT training to local and regional practitioners and become a training hub for the North, so equipment should be of a high specification, of an industry standard and and be student friendly.

Additional information: The Procurement Process will be managed in house by Leeds City College's procurement function via the College's eTendering portal, which provides a secure delivery mechanism and an auditable record of the process. There is no cost associated with using the portal and merely requires a short registration process.

The eTendering portal can be found at https://in-tendhost.co.uk/fe/aspx/Home
