Installation of a 996kW Pellet Fuelled Biomass Boiler at the Beecroft Gallery, Southend on Sea

Southend Borough Council requires a contractor to install four number equally sized pellet fuelled Biomass boilers totalling more than 950kW but less than 999kW and incorporating a mini district heating system. This is to be a showcase project delivering green heat into two of Southend’s iconic buildings and is to serve as a renewable energy education centre.

The works will include:

1. Four number equally sized pellet biomass boilers totalling less than 999kW but more than 950kW mounted within a forty foot high cube container.
2. Pellet fuel store; a forty foot high cube container mounted on top of the pellet boiler container.
3. Self-supporting flue tower containing four individual flues incorporating the flow and return pipework to deliver heat into the plant room at the top of the Beecroft Gallery.
4. Two buffer vessels installed in a basement room close to the biomass cabin.
5. Approximately 150 meters of pre insulated pipework for underground use to supply the Central museum.
6. Plate heat exchangers, control valves, heat meters, pumps etc.
7. Full visualisation package for public awareness fed into Screens and web site. Remote meter reading and fuel level monitoring.
8. All civil work is to be included within the tender.

Comprehensive drawings and a specification will be issued to contractors who express an interest and the works will be carried out under a JCT Contract. The tenders will be considered against an evaluation ratio of 65% for price and 35% for quality.

The proposed commencement date of this project is 1st February 2016 and must be completed, commissioned and RHI Registered by 30th March 2016.
