description
The current grant for the delivery of the National Witness Service is due to end on 31st March 2026. The MoJ are designing a new grant to allow continuation of the service once the current grant funding period concludes, and is now seeking to engage with interested applicants. The purpose of this engagement is to gather feedback on the current design and to assess the level of interest the grant will attract from potential applicants.
The MoJ wishes to flag that both individual applications as well as applications through consortia (two or more organisations coming together to apply for this grant) are welcomed.
The MoJ invites interested organisations to attend their virtual market engagement event on 7 October 2024 which will be delivered via Teams and take place between 10am- 1pm. Please respond by 2 October 2024 to allow time for invitations to be issued.
The event will cover the background to this grant, feedback on the potential criteria the Authority is proposing, the application process, and will provide an opportunity to ask questions. Please note that all questions and answers will be recorded and issued, alongside any materials shared during the event, to everyone who expresses an interest- even if unable to attend.
Background info:
| - | The current value of the Witness Service grant is circa £12 million per year, and going forward we are aiming to allocate a total of up to £55m over a grant period of four years. The total award value/thresholds are subject to confirmation of final requirements/term and will be included as part of the WS Grant competition notice when published. |
| - | It is expected that the application window will open in early November and will last approximately eight weeks. |
