description
Fenland District Council invites proposals for the following:
Provision of an Historic Building Conservation Educational Activity Programme; to take place in Wisbech Cambridgeshire.
This activity proposes to provide a range of public training/educational sessions relating to traditional construction, repairs, crafts and skills. These could take the form of a series of short courses, practical demonstrations, interactive sessions or on-line tutorials.
Fenland District Council would therefore like to appoint a suitable experienced organisation to deliver a series of events for the local community. There is a fixed budget of £36K
You will be required to deliver this activity on behalf of Fenland District Council, including sourcing of all specialists. You will be expected to manage all bookings (where required). The Townscape Heritage Officer (THO) will be able to advise on local venues best suited to the event/s.
Events could include workshops, taster sessions, talks, practical demonstrations, online tutorials/talks or a series of short courses. We envisage a minimum of five topics to be delivered, to be spread across separate sessions. Subjects could include (but are not limited to) lime mortar, joinery, fabric repair (brickwork, plaster, stonework), tiles, stained glass, conservation advice, building maintenance etc. Where a pre-booked commitment to attend an event is required, we have found from experience that sessions work better that are under 2 hours.
The target audience is age 17+ and opportunities should be advertised locally within the Wisbech area initially. Events should be delivered on weekends to offer the opportunities to the widest audience.
Companies with experience in the above should submit their expression of interest by email to procurement@fenland.gov.uk by Monday 11th January 2021 at the very latest.
Tender packs are available immediately for a return deadline of Monday 18th January 2021 1pm.
