ESPH SB Amber Cliff Works (ESPH169) - AWARD

Hastings Borough Council are seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for works to various areas of cliff in the Hastings area, anticipated to commence in March 2017.

The works shall include, but are not exclusively limited to, light and heavy scaling and controlled removal, vegetation removal, installation of rock netting, brickwork dentition and repointing, and the construction of a retaining wall. Additional works will be related to subsequent inspection.

The project is of two elements: Amber Cliff Works and Rock-a-Nore Retaining Wall. The Amber Cliff Works element consists of various works to cliffs in three different locations which include but are not exclusively restricted to:

• Glyne Gap - Rock and granular Fill, Heavy and light scaling; and
• Castle Hill - Vegetation removal and treatment, Heavy and light scaling, Dentition and repointing, Removal of soil and root masses, installation of crack monitoring; and
• East Hill - Block removal, Dentition and repointing, Vegetation removal, Rock netting.

The Rock-a-Nore Retaining Wall element consists of the construction of a rock anchored in-situ reinforced concrete wall with a stone block facing with associated works including drainage and additional local cliff works which include de-vegetation and the installation of netting.
