Health Education England are putting out this notice as a PIN (Prior Information Notice) Review of the CPD and career pathways for HCSWwith a view to completing a Direct Award to University Hospital Southampton NHS FT
The case for direct award can be found on the tender portal.
HEE is seeking a provider to improved visibility and understanding of the Continuous Professional Development and Career Pathways for HCSW (Health Care Support Workers) that are available to support works throughout their careers and to identify challenges and opportunities to support this.
HEE believes that it is highly unlikely for any other supplier to be able to provide the following skills/tools provided by University Hospital Southampton NHS FT as a current supplier for the following reasons:
| • | Comprehensive experience of the recruitment and development of HCSW and he Care Certificate and Higher Development Award (HDA) and its resources with experience of providing extensive technical advice and guidance to employers and other stakeholders including HEE, NHS England/Improvement, Dept of Health and Social Care, Skills for Health and Skills for Care. |
| • | Technical expertise in the development of the Care Cert and HDA curriculum including the interface between this and the Care Certificate Standards. |
| • | Leading and demonstrating strong communication skills with the national Higher Development Award Stakeholder group and broader stakeholder groups to promote and support the roll out of the HDA within health and care organisation to enable the development of support workers. |
