description

The Council of the Borough of Kirklees (the Council) wishes to purchase a community based service for high risk victims of domestic violence and abuse aged 16 years and over (the Services). The Services will be Independent Domestic Abuse Advocates (IDVA's). IDVAs work independently of any one agency to secure the safety of people at high risk of domestic violence and abuse and their children. Operating as the primary point of contact, IDVAs typically work with their clients from the point of crisis to assess the risk, review options, and develop and implement plans to address their immediate safety, as well as longer-term solutions. Although the service will not work directly with children under the age of 16, it will make referrals to safeguard children at risk of harm.
