description

The Royal Observatory Greenwich (ROG) is a leading visitor attraction and museum comprised of historic buildings, scientific and astronomy installations, galleries and a world class collection of records, art, instruments and other objects from scientific history. ROG is located within Greenwich Royal Park. The buildings of ROG include Scheduled Ancient Monuments, Grade 1 listed buildings; ROG and the Park together are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The water supply for ROG is via an aged pipeline which is thought to be at the end of its life. Royal Museums Greenwich are undertaking a replacement of the pipeline.

Quotations are sought from expert contractors to carry out the detailed design and replacement of the water main, using trenchless technology as far as possible.

Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
