Ofcom's fleet of owned vehicles is being refreshed by an additional 3 Land Rover Jaguars and 5 Renault Masters medium sized vans. The vehicles will be owned by Ofcom and will be technically converted with electronic equipment and storage solutions.

Ofcom's medium size vans are used as a mobile radio monitoring platform which includes a vehicle mounted pneumatic mast used in radio monitoring operations. Ofcom required the supply and fitting of 1 mast per vehicle.

The vehicles that require the masts to be installed are:

Conversion Type 1- Land Rover Jaguar Defender 110 Diesel 3.0 D250 Hard Top S Auto - Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle Type 1 (Quantity 3 Vehicles)

Conversion Type 2 - Renault Master E-TECH MM35 Panel Van E-Tech Advance MY24 87kw/h

Land Rover Jaguar Defender 110 Diesel 3.0 D250 Hard Top S Auto - Mild Hybrid Diesel x3

As a minimum the masts must meet the following technical criteria. The Contractor shall be responsible for the supply and installation of all the stated equipment and hardware including electrical and mechanical work.

Through roof mast solution required

Mounted with upper and lower rotatable bearings

Mast height to achieve a height of 8m above ground level

Mast must be deployed using remote control device.

Each section should be lockable.

Ofcom require the mast to be capable of a minimum of 10Kg headload

Rotating handle inside for mast movement

Lockable lower bearing

Mast cover which must be durable and secure

12v compressor and air exhaust and intake to be installed if possible underfloor

Remote warning buzzer and lamp if handbrake is released during mast deployment

Sufficient lubricant for 2 years or routine maintenance

Mast adaptor to fit top section of supplied mast for fixing antennas

Antenna mounting brackets to be supplied for mounting antennas vertical and horizontal

Mast operating limitations data be displayed on or near the mast location in vehicle
