description
The University is inviting tenders on the terms set out in the ITT.
No.3 Sub Station is part of Lancaster University's High Voltage network of 15 Sub-Stations and is the last to be refurbished. The infrastructure within the building was installed in 1968.
The Sub Station requires replacement of the Low & High Voltage switchgear and Transformers. The equipment requiring replacement are two no. 1MVA with 1.6MVA alternatives, the replacement of 2no. 400A 11kV Brush Oil Circuit Breaker with Schneider Ringmaster Units and the replacement of the English Electric Section Board with an Okken Section Board with associated Schneider ACB's and MCCB's.
The works shall include all cable modifications, joints to the buildings that are fed from the Sub Station which include but not limited to County Main, County South, Great Hall, Lancaster Institute of Contemporary Arts, Bowland Hall, Bowland Annexe, Music and Bowland ASH. These modifications will need to be carried out in a carefully considered programme in order to limit the loss of power to the buildings concerned.
The works will also include the rewiring of the small lighting and power system to the Sub Station and the associated removal and disposal of all redundant switchgear, breakers and transformers.
The location of the site is Bailrigg Campus, Lancaster, LA1 4YW.
This tender is not lotted. One contractor will be awarded the full package of work.
The University will host accompanied site visits on Monday 8th March and Tuesday 9th March 2021 by appointment. Please register your intention to attend via the In-Tend 'correspondence' function by 10am Friday 5th March 2021 at the latest as you will be allocated a time slot.
