description

The National Flood Rescue tactical advisor cohort was set up in 2011 in response to Pitt recommendation 39, to enable a coordinated national flood response across England. The training was paid for by Defra as a one-off grant to the Chief Fire Officers Association National Resilience team (CFOANR) who delivered the training programme. The FRS provide the great majority of nationally available Tactical Advisors, whose role is to centrally coordinate an effective national flood rescue effort and to provide additional support for local coordination when local resources become exhausted The National Resilience function of CFOA has recently been transferred by the Home Office to Merseyside FRS.
