Brief description:

This is an exciting time to join Sandwell's Council's Adult Social Care Service. As Social Care Lead Officer, you will have the opportunity to oversee day-to-day operations within our the Hospital and Intermediate Care Team. We operate a 7-day service including Bank Holidays.

We provide a high quality service in relation to all aspects of the assessment and care management process and you assist the Team Manager with providing professional supervision to other team members.

This role will also include working with other Senior Practitioners to support service delivery across Adult Services. The successful applicant will be part of an efficient and effective service to adults and their carers.

You will undertake prioritisation of enquiries from our customers, and ensure a timely and proportionate response to requests for Care Act Assessments. You will be required to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and related legislative frameworks.

We are particularly looking for an enthusiastic and committed professional to join our team to help shape and deliver our services, and contribute to the development of a model of best practice. In order to do so, you will be supported by a strong leadership Team and a committed Social Workers, Social Care Officers and brokers.

The successful candidate will be an experienced registered Social Worker or Occupational Therapist, who, with oversight and support from the Team Manager will champion and develop best practice within your area of responsibility.

The successful candidate will have sound practice skills, safeguarding knowledge and a proven track record of professional development. You will also be committed to the ongoing development of the Adult Social Care wider workforce.
